Johnston, Tommy

Tommy R Johnston, 64, passed away Tuesday, June 20th, 2017. Visitation will be held Friday, June 23rd, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm at Davis Funeral Chapel. Graveside funeral service will be held at Emerald Hills Memorial Park Saturday, June 24th, 2017 beginning at 2pm. Tommy was a hard working carpenter, a family man, a loving father, a caring friend, and a devoted husband. He adored his grandchildren and was always there when anyone needed him. He loved making people laugh and taking care of his family. His time here on earth was a true blessing to anyone he encountered. Survivors: Wife, Dawn; Sons: Danny and Scott. Daughters; Bobbie, Candie, Tabitha, and Stormy. Siblings; Sissy, Richard, Franny, Jack, JR, and Sue. He was also blessed with 12 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild. Added By: Tabitha Lasater

White, Jean Elizabeth (Stover)

Jean Elizabeth (Stover) White Jean Elizabeth (Stover) White, 94 of Bowie passed away on June 18, 2015, in Houston TX, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s and Bladder cancer. Jean has gone to be with her Lord and Savior. Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Montague Perpetual Cemetery, Montague TX. Jean was born on October 17, 1920 in Denton Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Elvin Lee White, her son Danny Lee White, her father Hugh Burton Stover, her mother Tatie Lyle Smith, and her siblings, Juanita Stover, Francis Wayne Stover, and Patricia Elaine (Stover) Pipkin. Jean married Elvin Lee White at Montague Texas on June 4, 1945. They had two sons, Jonnie Michael and Danny Lee White. She and Elvin lived in Montague County for the rest of their lives. Jean was a devoted member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Bowie Texas. She participated in the church backing club and got great enjoyment in contributing to the Baking Goods Auctions held as Church Fund raisers. She is survived by her son Jonnie Michael White of Bowie; brother-in-law, Weldon Leon Pipkin of Bowie; daughter-in-law, France’s Geneva (Carter) White of Plano; grandsons, Hugh Michael White, of Kemah; Robert Raymond White, of Dallas; James Lee White, of Plano; and a great granddaughter Rebecca Marie White of Concord, North Corolina.
